Music – Young Fathers – Cocoa Sugar

Young Fathers, Mercury Award winners in 2014, are an Edinburgh based band, who, if you’re being lazy and want to pigeon hole, could be described as Alternative Hip Hop. While trying to make more “normal” music, they’ve created another superb album. It gets more rewarding with every listening, as you pick out the conflicts of pop melodies against off beat/kilter drums and Electronica. And if nothing else, how often do you hear someone rap about Foie Gras?

Games – Sea of Thieves

The guys and girls at Rare, creators of some of the greatest games of all time (Goldeneye, Banjo Kazooie), have been quiet recently. They’ve come back with the self proclaimed “Best Game That Rare Has Ever Made”. They’ve come back with a bang, a Pirate Theme Action Advernture game. Travelling an open world, it’s encourages co-operative play online in an ever changing world. It’s sure to be a lot of fun, and stop you going to bed for one more adventure.

Cinema – Isle of Dogs

Wes Anderson is one of the most interesting film makers about. Everyone loves dogs. He has made a film about an Island full of dogs. It’s almost definitely going to be amazing.

Stream – Whiplash (New on Netflix)

Everyone loves dogs. I’m not sure the same can be said about jazz drumming. Don’t let that put you off. One of the most exciting and intense films that you’ll see. Very few films about drumming will have you breathless on the edge of your seat in the finale. In fact, very few films at all will provoke the feeling like this will.
